HOW TO PREPARE FOR INTERIOR PAINTING

There are a few things you need to do to prepare for our crew’s arrival.

STEP ONE: MOVE ALL YOUR FURNITURE

We will need the walls in the areas we are painting in to be clear, and that includes any furniture pushed against them. The furniture needs to be three feet from the wall to give our crews room to move and work unhindered.

STEP TWO: REMOVE VALUABLE ITEMS AND DECORATIONS

You will want to move any valuable and breakable items to a safe area. This includes glassware, urns, and decorative knick-knacks. Our crews will be moving in and out a lot, and we don’t want to accidentally bump something and knock it over.

STEP THREE: TAKE DOWN BLINDS

If there are windows in the workspace, you will want to take down any blinds before we arrive. Some of these blinds have intricate or fragile mechanisms, so it’s better to take them down yourself or have the original installer do it for you.

STEP FOUR: DISCONNECT AND REMOVE ELECTRONICS

You will want to unplug and remove any TVs, home theater systems, or other electronic devices before we arrive. We don’t want to incorrectly disconnect anything, so everything will run smoother if this is done beforehand.

STEP FIVE: CLEAR WALLS

The last thing to do is clear the walls of any picture frames or decorations you have hanging on them. This is also a good time to indicate whether you want us to patch nail holes or leave them in place.

If you want to put the picture in the same place, just leave the nail in the wall. Our technicians will paint around it. If you plan on redecorating or simply want a fresh start, remove the nail and our technicians will patch and paint over that spot.

WHAT IF I NEED HELP?

If you need help moving especially heavy or cumbersome furniture, we can certainly help with that. Just know that doing so can incur additional labor costs as it adds to the total time needed to complete the project.

If you have any questions about what we can help with, contact your project manager.
